Ok so after reading the recent news I decided to try to be helpful. Its been a while so why not. X and I have had some minor issues in the past but that's not relevant to this so ima just forget about that for now. Truthfully I'd like to see the place stay alive post TM too. I may not agree with how you've went about it but at least you tried/are trying something.

Our problem is simple. We all have one thing in common, Twisted Metal. Unfortunately the current one is dying a slow painful death and there's no promise of a new game ever. I believe its coming sooner than most but thats not the point. For now lets say nothing comes. How do you keep people coming here?

The most obvious solution has been tried with GTA. That's to find a single game most of the community can play together. It'd be the ideal solution but unless a new car combat game comes out with online multiplayer i just dont see that happening. With the PS4 coming out its even more difficult since i'd assume not everyone has the cash to go buy one if something good is announced tomorrow.

The next reasonable step would be to make it a multi game site. This makes sense but it wont solve the problem alone. The issue is that we don't have a huge amount of members. Why would someone come here to talk with maybe 5-10 others about a new game they're playing when there's other sites dedicated to that game with way more people.

I'd say instead of making rules and trying to clean up the feed you should encourage the off topic talk in the feed. If you want to clean something up it should be the forum. Thats the permanent part of the site that should be a place where people can look thru relevant discussion not shit talk. The feed should be a place you can tell people what you had for breakfast if you want. A place someone might call you a egotistical prick after for thinking anyone cares about your breakfast. A place to socialize in any way you choose. It is the social side of Twisted Metal right. Restricting what people can say only makes people say less.

I'd say the peak of this website was when Everywhereigoo made that comment on Vads profile. It was the kinda comment you seem to want to stop but it lead to the most fun i've had here (feed fucking excluded). It was a useless comment that ended up in "Angry Sex". That was liked so much that it became the sites slogan for a while. Had that useless comment not been made none of that happens. The funny thing is most of the comments made weren't about TM. There was shit talk but it wasn't centered around that. It was a bunch of useless nonsense and off color humor. Just people chilling out. If people keep chilling out here maybe it buys time until a new TM or something similar comes out.

PS - lol @ the drama tag below. i wanna check it so bad but im afraid it'll auto delete the post of some shit. im not sure why its there but i like it.

I agree with all of your points. Shocked? That may be a surprise to you.

With the feed, subject matter can be anything, but with rules now, it's more about HOW one goes about posting on the feed. If censorship is deleting a user's posts made ten times in a row with videos or meaningless content out of spite, then this is not the place to be - this is an exaggeration, but this applies to everyone. I'm not out to curb freedom of expression, I'm out to curb spam, but with the rules applied properly, it should deter drama, and drama the way I see it on here is a constant public display of hate which disregards the proper use of the feed, when it is in fact the feed that is being used.

The misconception that I'm trying to censor might discourage users from using it, but the reality is people want to do whatever they feel like and get away with it, because it makes no difference to them on 'this' site, as it stands with the game, and I'm changing that.

"What are/were the repercussions for acting a fool? What do you lose by doing so? "These questions are very relevant to how people use and view this site. By laying some ground work, it will at least put is in a spot to move forward. By allowing whatever it may be that welcomes users to come here, the focus can't completely turn into this negative "What's the point?" mindset and commentary.

As far as being a multi-game site, I encourage this, but I would still like to see TM be a (strong) focal point of he site, whether it's through the game itself, the community, other vehicular car combat games, games consisting of similar elements....it's hard to present a site to welcome new user/players when this hasn't been figured out.

Side note: It looks like the feed only goes back 6 months, so anything posted there will not remain.

We got topic tags a couple weeks ago, so I thought the only tag relevant was that lol. It was a joke when I put it on, but...

If someone spams a bunch of videos to clog the feed sure you delete the videos but that's completely different from telling people how they can speak to each other. For example the things i said about your mom weren't nice and incredibly off color but not spam. I was expressing my distaste for rules that even mention what language is allowed by saying the rudest thing i could while not using naughty words. Now i have no issue with you deleting that because i posted it on your profile and all members can delete things posted on there profile. Its not a mod sorta thing. Had I posted it on my profile id feel different.

The fact is that when you tell people they can't do something they tend to do it more often. The rules just make people who typically act right to do shit in rebellion. Peoples entire lives are filled with rules. Distaste for rules is what made a lot of people leave Gamefaq to come here. Plus Twisted Metal just isn't about rules.

Hey do you play TM still? Not asking in a rude way but i can't remember the last time i saw you.

I haven't played TM in a couple months, and I don't play Hawken that much either. These games have similarities both good and bad, but the bad team balance has made Hawken either boring(for me) and punishing for new players. Most newer players leave the lobbies during and after a match because they aren't willing to get better, or they simply don't stand a chance, and this creates a problem with populated lobbies.

I seen that particular post of yours as a post with no basis, other than to get under my skin because you wanted to have some fun . That's why I deleted it.

Hey, I can't control what people do. They see rules, and they go completely out of their way to do stupid shit, then they suffer the consequences. It will either show them to appreciate what they can do, or see that signing in it isn't worth the time.

On a related note, Doc kept signing in just to post videos on the feed. He knew they got deleted, so he kept doing it. Profile>Issue infraction> "Violation"; Reason: Spam. What I didn't know with issuing infractions is, it looks like it takes the user's posts and comments off the feed(and I don't know if they come back either). I thought the basic infraction would just slap something on the profile, along with sending a pm regarding the infraction. I changed this particular infraction issued from 7 days to 1.
