So a backer of the MotorGun project by the name of 'Greg Schwartz' posts this message in the Kickstarter comment section:

"For those wondering what makes this game special, and don't understand references to Interstate 76, allow me to mention a few things. Devs, feel free to correct me if I'm on the wrong track.

I76 style car combat is like MechWarrior at a hundred and ten miles an hour. Cars have armor locations and hit detection. Right armor low? Change how you drive to present your left side. Back armor gone? Drive in reverse! Relish the thrill of taking down that last opponent with 3 flat tires, low ammo, and a destroyed dropper. No one-hit kills here.
Customization means you get to decide what weapons and armor your car has. Everything has trade-offs. Faster cars have less armor and fewer weapons. Find the weapon combinations that match your driving style. Drop oil onto the map and set up traps. Use smoke to confuse opponents and come at them from an unexpected direction. Snap off a sharp brake-turn, drop the car in neutral, and mash the trigger on your twin .50 cal machine guns on the guy that was tailing you. Fast paced, but highly strategic play.

Design a car to ram other cars, or maybe a light and fast machine with flamethrowers to wreck your opponent's maneuverability. Build a car with mortars and heavy front armor, and drive it backwards. Maybe you don't need such a powerful engine, just build up your speed and make sweeping high speed passes. Melt their tires with a flaming oil dropper and then wreck them at range with autocannons.

Nothing released in the last 15 years has been even close. These guys get it. Give them the chance."

Pixelbionic responds:

"Greg, thanks, you do really get it. This is basically exactly as I imagine it. It will be just as much fun to come up with the crazy car designs as it will be to drive them in matches. I just cant wait to see what people come up with and then what other people come up with to counter it. We're basically talking about giving people insane levels of customization to do crazy stuff."

Don't know about you guys, but to me that sounds fucking awesome. That's what I am looking foward to in the next installment of car combat.

I just think if people knew it was going to be released on console they would be a little more excited. I understand the reasoning behind releasing it on PC, and the amount of money and resources your saving. The ease at which this game can be modded or hacked on PC is one reason people are shy about backing this project for sure. Another is the PC is outdated, everyone either has an Ipad or a laptop, which generally aren't used for gaming. Maybe I'm wrong, but thats how me n a few other TM diehards feel about the subject, Great Concept though!

At this point, there will be a PS4 version if we hit $1.5 Million....and there should be, dangit. - Does knowing there will be a ps4 version at the highest stretch goal make you want to donate? Probably not, but I can imagine that if somehow we get close to that number, then the total number of backers would SKYROCKET - be sittin in around $2.5 mil

PC's are not the standard for today's average gamer, but if a PC is outdated, then it's the hardware. I get what you are saying, but smartphones, tablets and touchpads aren't quite up to par for AAA titles.

PC's are the way games are developed. This is also an advantage for the developer to allow testing early, and perhaps on a bigger scale.

If you would, please define playstyle.

Choosing a class(light, medium, heavy), choosing the engine, weapons, etc. defines your playstyle, as far as MotorGun goes anyways.

What's a bananas game?

"b-b-but the graphics...." - Those gameplay teasers should be nothing more than insight to the GAMEPLAY, not the graphics.

It is not even in pre-alpha Campoy. I don't see why there is this big lack of understanding about the game, about it still being in developement - October 2014 is the target release date; that's well over a year from now. They got a whole friggin year to design, develop and polish the game. On the KS under the gameplay vid, they said it will look at least that good.

it would have racing on actual circuits etc with and without weapons.
http://www.youtube.com/wa ... kZ7AZATPGhqFjXYy2HO5

also destruction derby with wrecking racing and arena derbys with points system.

be more then just playing the same thing over and over.

...Wow. Sounds like you are aiming for a casual vehicular party game like Mario Kart. - And that's not a bash on Mario Kart either.

The games you showed obviously aren't focused on car combat primarily, and the concept of MotorGun isn't hard to defend when you have read(and comprehended) what it will and could offer, especially when it comes to comparing it to games that lack any depth.

Yeah, if I were you, I would stick to Twisted Metal until it dies out.

In Pixelbionic's pitch vid, there was mention of possibly adding some type of race game, but I'm sure it would be difficult to balance, and would think there wouldn't be any special courses for racing.
